In this workshop\, we’ll review best practices for a great interview\, plus examples of great (and not so great) interviews that the presenter has held! You’ll walk away with a foundation to create an efficient and effective interview process.  \nThis interactive presentation will cover:  \n* Human behavior in the interview: aka\, humans are weird\, but you still have to hire them.  \n* Cognitive biases that could cause you to make a bad hiring decision.  \n* How anxiety impacts your interviewee \n* Other ways to assess if your interviewee is the right match \n* Avoiding illegal questions and how to NOT make your interviewee uncomfortable \n* Tips for virtual interviews \n* Best practices for standardizing interviews \nPlus\, time for a Q&A to ask your burning questions about how to have a great interview.  \n \nMeet Our Presenter:  Dawn Sipley \nWith nearly 20 years in HR\, nine of those in business ownership\, Dawn understands the pressures of entrepreneurship. She began her professional career after graduating from UCF with her business degree in 2004. Since then\, she has supported hundreds of companies in Central Florida with their hiring needs either as a corporate recruiter\, staffing company\, or consultant. It was during those years in staffing that the concept of Sipley the Best was born. Instead of the agency experience where they simply do the grunt work for you\, StB targets companies that truly care about the culture of the company\, dedicated to attracting diverse but like-minded talent\, while choosing to value the current team. Dawn is married to Jason Sipley\, her high school prom date and lives in Sanford with their two children\, Tawn and Bray. As a family\, Team Sipley enjoys the outdoors through paddle boarding\, kayaking\, camping\, fishing\, hunting\, oystering\, scalloping\, foraging\, and minimalist hiking. They are also active\, serving members of Action Church in Sanford. Dawn also serves the Central Florida Christian Chamber of Commerce as the Ambassador Chairwoman and as a Board of Directors for Act to Act. Through these 3 organizations and regular speaking events\, Dawn is able to serve her community nearly 500 hours annually\, while still running a successful HR firm.
